Numbers & porting
Numbers that connect the world.
Provision new numbers, port existing inventory, configure emergency-service records, and attach numbers to VoiceML, SIP trunks, hosted PBX, messaging, and lookup workflows.
Number services
-
Local DIDs
Use local numbers for inbound voice, outbound caller ID, PBX users, and application workflows.
-
Toll-free and Mobile
Support number types based on availability, compliance, and product eligibility.
-
Porting
Move existing numbers with coordinated paperwork, validation, test windows, and cutover communication.
-
CNAM and caller ID
Add display-name services and caller identity hygiene where available.
-
e911
Associate your phone number with a validated service address so calls can be routed to the correct emergency response center. We support address assignment, validation, and detect errors by allowing testing that does not affect emergency services.
-
Numbering API
Lifecycle control over phone numbers — search, order, provision, port, e911, messaging enablement, lookup, and inbound routing — across voice and messaging workflows without manual carrier coordination.
Porting that doesn't lose customers mid-cutover
Number portability is where most carrier migrations actually fail. Our process:
- Eligibility check against LERG and the losing carrier's portability rules.
- LOA preparation and submission, with the losing-carrier-side coordination handled by VoiceTel.
- Test window scheduling — calls to the number reach both the old and new endpoints during the window, so you can prove answer rates before cutover.
- Defined rollback path. If the port lands and something breaks, we put it back inside business hours.
- E911 record reissued before the port completes, not after.
Numbers FAQ
Can I port my number to your service?
Yes. We can port most North American phone numbers, provided the number is eligible for porting. If your number is portable, we can help transfer it to our service.
