If you're unsure, use the installer (.exe): a standard setup wizard that adds a Start-menu shortcut. The portable .exe runs with no install, and the .zip extracts with no installer; run VoiceTel.exe inside it.

2 · Verify checksum

3 · Install and first launch

Run the installer, allow the microphone, sign in.

The installer walks through a setup wizard; the portable .exe and the .zip run in place. On first launch, allow microphone access and enter the credentials for your account.

Run the installer

Double-click the downloaded -Setup.exe file. For the portable build, run the .exe directly, or extract the .zip and run the app inside it.
Pass SmartScreen

If Windows SmartScreen appears, click More info, then Run anyway.
Finish the wizard

Follow the installation wizard to complete setup.
Open the app

Open VoiceTel (or VoiceML Phone) from the Start Menu.
Allow microphone access

Allow access when prompted. If you missed the prompt, go to Settings → Privacy & security → Microphone, enable Microphone access, and allow the app.
Sign in

Enter your VoiceTel SIP credentials (username, password, display name) as provisioned in the customer portal. In VoiceML Phone, enter your VoiceML activation code under Settings → Auto Provision instead.

Questions about VoiceTel Phone on Windows.

How do I uninstall or repair the app?

Open Settings → Apps → Installed apps. Locate VoiceTel and choose Uninstall or Modify/Repair if available.

What if audio doesn’t work?

Check input/output devices in Windows Sound settings and verify microphone permissions are enabled.

Where can I find logs?

Logs are stored in %APPDATA%\VoiceTelPhone\logs. You can share them with support if needed.

Why does the installer request admin rights?

Admin privileges are required to register audio components and add VoiceTel Phone to the Start Menu.

Can I install without admin rights?

Yes — use the portable executable (.exe) or the .zip archive above.

Upgrading from an earlier version?

Fully quit the running app from the system tray (right-click → Quit) before installing; otherwise the single-instance lock re-focuses the old version.
