Electronic faxing.
VoiceTel electronic faxing receives inbound faxes by email and sends outbound faxes from an authorized email address. Fax behavior is controlled through DID routing and the Fax to Email Service settings; refresh the portal after making changes and confirm the correct email address is selected before testing.
Configure inbound fax routing
To receive inbound faxes by email, route the fax DID to the fax service.
- Log in to the VoiceTel portal.
- Go to Settings.
- Open DID.
- Select the DID that should receive faxes.
- Set the DID route to either T.30 Fax to Email or T.38 Fax to Email.
- Save the DID routing change.
- Refresh the page to confirm the updated route is applied.
Set the inbound fax email destination
After the DID is routed to fax-to-email, select the email address that should receive inbound faxes.
- Go to Settings.
- Open Fax to Email Service.
- Find the Inbound Fax Email field.
- Select the email address that should receive inbound fax messages.
- Save the change.
- Refresh the page and confirm the selected email address is still shown.
Add a new fax email destination
If the desired email address is not available in the Fax to Email settings, add it as a fax destination.
- Go to Settings.
- Open Fax to Email Service.
- Click Add Fax Destination.
- Enter the new email address.
- Save the new destination.
- Refresh the page.
- Return to the Inbound Fax Email field.
- Select the newly added email address.
- Save the change again.

Authorization
Only the email address configured as the Inbound Fax Email destination is authorized to send outbound faxes.
If outbound faxing fails, confirm that the sender email address matches the configured fax email destination exactly.
Route the DID to T.30 Fax to Email or T.38 Fax to Email before expecting inbound fax delivery. Configure the Inbound Fax Email field before testing. Refresh the portal after configuration changes. Test inbound and outbound faxing after every change is saved.
