Support / Voice / Phone / Poly & Polycom

Configure Poly / Polycom VVX phones for VoiceTel.

VVX 250, 350, 450, and Edge series phones running UC Software 6.x or later use the same Lines tab configuration. Provision via the web UI for individual phones or via Polycom ZTP for fleet rollouts.

Web UI configuration

  1. Find the IP address: Settings → Status → Network → TCP/IP Parameters.
  2. Open https://<phone-ip>. Sign in as Admin (default password 456 — change immediately).

  4. Set:
    • Display Name: the user's name
    • Address (SIP URI): sip:<username>@<sip-host-from-portal>
    • Authentication User ID: the SIP username from VoiceTel onboarding
    • Authentication Password: the SIP password from VoiceTel onboarding
    • Label: short label shown on the line key
  5. Open Server 1 tab:
    • Address: the SIP server host shown in your customer portal

    • Expires: 360
    • Register: Yes
  6. Open SIP → Local Settings.
  7. Set:
    • NAT Keep-Alive Interval: 30
    • NAT Keep-Alive Method: rport (or empty SIP REGISTER)
  8. Save and reboot.

Codec preference

Open Settings → Codec Profiles → Audio Codec Priority. Enable PCMU, PCMA, and G.729 in that order.

Auto-provisioning

Polycom ZTP (Zero Touch Provisioning) is the equivalent of Yealink RPS:

  • Register your phone's MAC range in the ZTP portal at https://ztp.poly.com.
  • Point ZTP at your VoiceTel provisioning URL.
  • Phones contact ZTP at boot, get redirected, fetch their VoiceTel config and register.

For self-hosted provisioning, the phone boots looking for 000000000000.cfg and per-MAC <mac>.cfg files via TFTP/HTTP/HTTPS. Contact engineering for VoiceTel-specific config templates.
